THE CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE
This is a worldwide organisation which promotes Educational, Religious concerns at all levels; local, national and international. St Mary's has a long-established and active group who meet for fellowship, to support the parish, local charities and also to engage in ecumenical activities. The group are always looking for new members who would be assured of a very warm welcome. Currently the group meets on every third Thursday of each month. Please see Contacts page.
THE LATIN MASS SOCIETY
A Latin Mass is celebrated at St Mary's once a month. For details contact Sheila and Jane Hall on 01527 852062.
THE SUNDAY READINGS GROUP
This group meets every Thursday in term-time at 7.00pm - 9.00pm and for those who wish to stay, enjoy a shared supper afterwards. The readings and the gospel for the forthcoming Sunday Mass are read and discussed in a very friendly and relaxed environment. All are able to personally benefit from hearing and understanding the Word of God and to see its significance in their own lives and within the parish community. Please see Contacts page.
THE CHILDRENS' LITURGY
This is offered at the 10.30 Family Mass on Sunday's and is lead by a team of volunteers. The aim is to develop the faith of our parish children, to bring them into an ever deeper relationship with God, and to lead them gradually into full participation with the adults in church. The children, during the Liturgy of the Word at Mass, go and look at the gospel story from their viewpoint and in their language. Colouring and practical activities are usually involved to facilitate this. Their work is part of the Offertory procession and is shared with the rest of the congregation towards the end of Mass.
The group is always looking for volunteers. Please see Contacts page.
